We’re happy to announce that Misha De-Stroyev’s photo ‘Henningsvær Football Field’ has taken the 3rd prize in ‘Cities’ category of one the most prestigious photo contests of the world held by National Geographic.
Here’s the story behind the award-winning photo exclusively for Alter-View readers:
“This football field, that is found in Henningsvær in the Lofoten Islands in Norway, is considered to be one of the most amazing football fields in Europe, and maybe even in the world. This photo was taken during a 10-day sailing trip from Tromsø, one of the most Northern points of Norway, to the Lofoten Archipelago, in June 2017.
Henningsvær was one of our final destinations. We arrived there after a week of sailing through the cold and rainy weather. Upon our arrival, the weather cleared up and the next day temperature rose to a comfortable level, and the conditions became suitable for flying my drone. I had done my research on Henningsvær before and one of my missions was to take a photo of this famous football field. We were absolutely astonished by the fact that the whole gigantic football field is heated. The first thing we did upon our arrival was to lay down flat on the field and enjoy the warmth. After a few minutes of enjoying this incredible place, I launched my drone and took this photo from the height of about 120 meters.”
Misha will receive a monetary prize and international recognition among the travel photo professionals and readers of the most popular travel magazine of the world. We wish further growth and success to our founder!
